URSP 108 Is a class offered at Virginia Commonwealth University allowing students to uncover the many layers of Richmond Virginia. In doing so we travelled through the past present and future of the city. Over time Richmond has experienced Dramatic changes that molded the city into what it is today. In this class We learned about politics, education, urban planning, and the uprising issues occurring throughout our city. To view Richmond through multiple lenses we hosted several guest speakers from the background of nonprofit, government, and corporate sectors.

Hello, My name is Jennifer Ahmad and I am currently a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University seeking a degree in Communications and Public Relations. I have lived in Richmond my whole life and have found the history and monuments to be one of my favorite things about Richmond.

Hello! Im a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University with a major in Urban and Regional Planning. I have lived in the Richmond area my whole life and have a real passion for this city and its further development. Some of my favorite things to do in RVA are walk my dog down by the James River, and check out local artwork.
My name is Ebenezer Belayneh and I’m a freshman at VCU. My major is undeclared but I leaning towards computer science. I am on the men’s track team here at VCU. Richmond is a beautiful place. Since I’m not from around here I enjoy skating or driving around to see some of the amazing sights there are to see.

Hello! Im a junior at Virginia Commonwealth University I am a Environmental Studies major. I grew up in a rural area a few hours outside of the Richmond area. Since moving to Richmond I have adapted to its unique urban environment. I enjoy exploring the city and areas around the James River Park system.
Hey! I'm a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. I'm a Psychology major. I did not grow up in Richmond. I grew up in a military family, so Richmond is pretty new to me. I love Richmond especially in the fall. Richmond has a lot of fun things to offer! Especially the art museum, and the river.
I'm Brandon, sophomore in Urban and Regional Studies at Virginia Commonwealth University. I was born in Richmond and have returned to my homeland for a degree! I moved when I was young so this project a great opportunity to learn more about the great communities of Richmond.
